In the Spring
-
Spring: The awakening of nature, the saturated, but not too overwelming colors, the warmth in the air, gives opportunity for bonding and reconnecting with the environment around us. Like having a picnic under the cherry blossom trees, also known as 花見 (hanami).
Summer Serenity
-
The qualities of summer: lots of green, saturated and subtle, warm and cool green. May to September, a time of celebrating nature’s growth, and its vitality depicted as it breathes in and out the luscious color of green.

In Winter’s Embrace

I describe Autumn as a time of melancholy and beauty. Why?
As a person born and raised in Japan, when for instance, I see もみじ (momiji/Japanese maple leaves) the bright shades of red, orange, and yellow, is truly a sight to see in the cooler months. However, the bright colors don’t last, and the thought of impermanence creates a melancholic feeling linked to autumn. Autumn are one of my favorite seasons because it is beautiful because of its transience, forcing myself to enjoy the present moment.
